Vietnam War Lesson Plan
Somehow, my group didn't get our lessons copied for the class. This is one on the Vietnam War but it can really be adapted for any time period. Good luck & have fun.
Lesson Goals and Objectives:
• The student will analyze Vietnam War documents.
• The student will write an editorial to their local paper expressing their stance on the Vietnam War.
Materials and Resources needed: Variety of Vietnam documents, pen/pencil, paper.
Procedure:
1. Pass out packets of Vietnam documents. (This can be done individually or in groups. The larger variety of documents used the larger the variety of perspectives you will receive.)
2. Students should analyze the documents using SOAPSS or similar process.
3. Students will select two of four documents to assist in writing an editorial to their local paper.
4. Students write an editorial properly citing documents and using correct tense.
5. Students should turn in their SOAPSS or written analysis of each document in addition to their editorial.
